Helping to reach people in Bassetlaw affected by cancer

Aurora Wellbeing Centre in Worksop provides support for people living with a cancer diagnosis in the Bassetlaw area.

The Centre helps both physical and emotional well-being. It brings together people affected by cancer and the care services available; working to improve their experience, from the point of diagnosis, during treatment and beyond.

Aurora offers clients a bespoke care package. Services include free beauty treatments and holistic therapies, wellbeing and counselling, support groups, and so much more…

Support

Following my own diagnosis for breast cancer, I pledged to work with the charity as a volunteer and help refresh and develop their marketing and communications activities, This has included marketing materials, and content and communications messages. We are working to raise the profile of Aurora through press activity, social media and winning awards… ‘Charity of the Year’ at the North Notts Business Awards 2018… as a start.

“Like so many people that are diagnosed with cancer and undergo surgeries and months of treatment, I was not prepared for the support I might need after my treatment had come to an end.

“Just stepping through the door at the Aurora Wellbeing Centre was therapy and the support available is immediately beneficial. Life after cancer is never the same, but because I live in Bassetlaw, I’m lucky to have access to this amazing resource.”
